Brief accounts of my diagnosis and prognosis (Actually, I don't understand some of the medical terms)

1 July 2010 : Oesophago-gastroduodenoscopy (OGDS) {Linear antral gastritis}.

10 Jan 2011 : Colonoscopy {Carcinoma of the midrectum (Ca rectum at 10 cm on colonoscopy - grade II), Rectosigmoid colon - Colonic Adenocarcinoma (moderately differentiated Astler - Collar Modified Duke's Stage B1)}.

12 Jan 2011 : CT Scan of the abdomen and pelvis {Carcinoma of rectosigmoid with lung metastases}.

24 Jan 2011 : Anterior resection with covering ileostomy, and plantation of chemoport {All surgical margins are free of tumour, all lymph nodes displayed reactive lymph plasia and free of tumour}.

4 Feb 2011 : Removal of clips at the anterior resection.

13 Feb 2011 : Lopogram - my terminology may be wrong! {A procedure to ensure that there is no leakage at the lower part of the digestive system after the operation, so that reverse ileostomy can be carried out}.

14 Feb 2011 : Ileostomy reversal {A procedure to stitch back the intestine in order to close the stoma}.

1 Apr. 2011 : Repeated CT Scan at HUKM {Suspicious thickening of the lower rectum, lung nodules}.

28 Apr. 2011 : PET Scan at PPUPM {No evidence of locoregional tumour recurrent, lung nodules are less likely to represent metastastic nodules, reactive lymph nodes, multinodular goitre - Hypovolumetric activity of the lymph node does not exclude malignancy}.

5 - 10 May 2011 : Chemotherapy 1st cycle {I have to go through 6 cycles of chemotherapy)

3 June - 12 July : Chemotherapy + Radiotherapy (25 times) {Week 1 - Chemotherapy 2nd cycle + radiotherapy, week 2 till week 4 - radiotherapy, week 5 - chemotherapy 3rd cycle + radiotherapy}.

26 - 30 Sept : Chemotherapy 4th cycle.

24 - 28 Oct 2011 : Chemotherapy 5th cycle.

21 - 25 Nov 2011 : Chemotherapy 6th cycle (final).

Repeated PET Scan is due in April 2012 ...
